What can we expect on a
Marriage Encounter weekend?
The weekend consists of a series of presentations given by three or four married couples who, just like you, have decided that their marriage is important. Couples will relate their experiences--the good, the bad, and the funny--and give you questions to ponder and discuss.
FAQ's
Will we be asked to share with the group?
Couples are never asked to share any personal information with the group (beyond a basic introduction--names, years married, where you're from). The only sharing that occurs on a Marriage Encounter weekend is between you and your spouse.
Is this marriage counseling?
Marriage Encounter is NOT a counseling session. The presenting team couples are not trained in marital or family counseling. Rather, they are married couples just like you who have a heart for healthy marriages and teach a proven method of communication.
Do we have to belong to a certain church or denomination?
Marriage Encounter is a Christian organization and married couples of any faith and/or denomination are welcome!
Is this for a marriage in trouble?
Marriage Encounter is a tool to help make good marriages great! It is designed to help you refresh and renew your marriage--to take it to an even deeper and more satisfying level. That isn't to say that it won't help a troubled marriage; but that is not the primary purpose.
